Cotters lead Trojans past Dunkirk in volleyball

Megan Cotter had 11 aces, eight assists and two kills to lead Southwestern past Dunkirk 25-10, 25-7, 25-21 in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Central Division girls volleyball Monday.

Lauren Cotter had five kills and four aces; Anna Rauh had four aces, three kills and two digs; Ellie Kreinheder had three kills; and Sophia Tallon had three aces for the Trojans (5-10, 5-8).

Dunkirk fell to 2-13 overall and 0-13 in the league.

T’WOLVES WIN MARATHON

Cattaraugus-Little Valley beat Salamanca in a five-set East Division marathon, 25-15, 24-26, 25-18, 22-25, 25-14.

The Timberwolves improved to 7-6 overall and 7-5 in the league.

Jaedan Hubbard led the Warriors (5-8, 4-8) with seven kills and two aces. Jillian Rea had four aces, three kills and three assists; Makayla Burch had six assists and five aces; and Karina Crouse had three aces and two kills.

JAMESTOWN FALLS SATURDAY

Tori Unverdorben had 15 kills, nine digs and three aces while Olivia Cook had 14 kills, 10 digs and three aces as Portville remained undefeated with a 25-19, 25-13, 25-9 sweep of Jamestown in the Central Division on Saturday.

Kylie Blessing had 34 assists, seven aces and five digs; Olivia Emley had 14 digs and two aces; and Lillian Bentley had five kills and two blocks for the Panthers (14-0, 12-0).

Nicole Carlson led the Red Raiders (9-4, 9-4) with four digs; Ella Smith had eight digs and five kills; Tasia Leeper had four digs; and Rylie Loomis had three blocks.

Portville won the jayvee match.
