The Fredonia 8-10 Little League Softball All-Stars punched their ticket to the New York state tournament by winning the Section 1 West title over Ellicottville/Cattaraugus-Little Valley on Saturday.
In Game 1 at the Fredonia Little League Complex, Fredonia won 8-1 behind a powerful performance from Mckella Hodkin in the circle. Hodkin threw a complete-game two-hitter with 14 strikeouts and three walks.
Offensively, McKenna Crawford had two hits, including a double, Hodkin added a triple and Jenna Fryberger hit a home run. Maggie Mikula had the other hit for Fredonia.
In Game 2, Fredonia pounded out 15 hits en route to a three-inning victory.
Hodkin had four singles; Fryberger had three hits, including two triples; Crawford had three hits, including a double; Giavanna Muscarella had two doubles; Delaney Artrip tripled; and Adalyn Stellrecht and Cecelia Tonelli each had a single.

Hodkin again earned the victory in the circle with seven of the nine outs coming via the strikeout.
Josie Swanson and Alanna Marvin stood out in the field.
Fredonia will now play in the state tournament beginning Tuesday at the Brighton Little League Complex in Rochester.
