JAMESTOWN — Rain washed out the Independence Day celebration doubleheader and fireworks presented by Jamestown Mattress scheduled for last night after the Jamestown Tarp Skunks game at Diethrick Park.

The doubleheader and fireworks will now occur on Friday, July 9 against the Niagara Power.

Doubleheaders will also be played this Sunday against the Geneva Red Wings and Wednesday, July 14 against the Power. The conclusion of Thursday’s suspended game will be played at 4 p.m. this Sunday and a seven-inning game will follow at 7 p.m.

The July 14 doubleheader will also be two seven-inning games.

West Division first-place Jamestown (16-7) is scheduled to return to action at 7 p.m. today at Newark.
