Fredonia shut out by Gators

Anthony DeCapua’s goal in the 27th minute turned out to be enough for Allegany-Limestone to slip by Fredonia 1-0 in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association West Division boys soccer Tuesday.

Eric Spring had the assist for the Gators (10-0-0, 5-0-0).

Trevor Persch made eight saves in net for the Hillbillies (2-6-0, 1-3-0).

HUSKIES BLANK DUNKIRK

OLEAN — Thomas Bates scored three times and Alex Linderman added two goals as Olean blanked Dunkirk 8-0 in the West Division.

Dominic Kahle, Bryce Franklin and Stephen Hoffman each added a goal for the Huskies. Linderman, Max Bee and Quintin Allen each had two assists to support goalkeeper Karstan Stadtler, who made two saves.

T’BIRDS RALLY FOR WIN

MAYVILLE — Chautauqua Lake scored twice in the second half to rally past Frewsburg for a 2-1 Central Division victory.

Lucas Eckman gave the Bears (4-5-1, 2-3-0) a 1-0 lead in the 30th minute from Garrett Brink.

After halftime, Devin Putney tallied from Jalen Parkhurst and Cole Otto scored from Elias Quintero for the Thunderbirds (5-2-0, 4-1-0).

F/CV EARNS SHUTOUT

FALCONER — Haydn Myers had two goals while Ethyn Gilbert had a goal and two assists as Falconer/Cassadaga Valley beat Ellicottville 4-0 in the East Division.

Gilbert scored in the 10th minute and assisted on Myers’ goal in the 14th minute as the Golden Cougars (6-3-0, 4-1-0) led 2-0 at halftime.

Christian Wilshire scored from Gilbert and Myers tallied from Coleson Barber in the final six minutes of the game.

The Eagles fell to 2-6-1 overall and 2-3-0 in the league.

EAGLES’ BALANCED ATTACK

SILVER CREEK — Three different goal scorers sent North Collins past Silver Creek/Forestville 3-0 in the Central Division.

Ryan Stefan scored from Derek Ebersole in the 20th minute and a minute later Austin Kehr scored from Ebersole.

Jesse Juusela added the final goal in the 67th minute from Alex Ellsworth.

WATERMAN NETS WINNER

SALAMANCA — Ryan Waterman scored from Noah Frontuto in the second minute of the second half as Pine Valley/Gowanda edged Salamanca/Cattaraugus-Little Valley 2-1 in the East Division.

Darwin Westlund gave the Panthers (2-4-0, 2-3-0) a 1-0 lead in the second minute when he scored from Matthew Hostettler.

Jorden Ambuske scored in the 30th minute for Salamanca/Cattaraugus-Little Valley (0-9-0, 0-5-0).

PORTVILLE STILL UNBEATEN

PORTVILLE — Kyle Mathes had a goal and four assists for Portville in a 7-1 East Division victory over Randolph.

Christian Gariepy had two goals and an assist; Nick Harmon had two goals; and Cole Faulkner and Zach Buckner also scored for the Panthers (9-0-1, 5-0-0).

Griffin Nelson scored from Cooper Freeman for the Cardinals (3-4-1, 2-3-0).
