Chautauqua Lake posts volleyball win

MAYVILLE — Chautauqua Lake defeated Maple Grove in three sets, 25-16, 25-15, 25-17 for a Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Assoction Division 2 West girls volleyball victory on Tuesday.

The Thunderbirds were led by Hannah Group with five kills; Ava Olson had five kills, three aces, six assists; Jessica Wiemer had four kills and one block; Brynn Engdahl had two kills, one ace and 13 digs; and Jenna Waters had two kills and 10 digs.

The Red Dragons were led by Eliza Dawes with seven kills, Erin Mansfield with eight digs and Rachael King with five aces.

Chautauqua Lake improved to 11-0 overall and in league while Maple Grove fell to 10-5 overall and 8-3 in league.

Chautauqua Lake jayvees won.

PANAMA TOPS FORESTVILLE

PANAMA — Panama defeated Forestville in three sets, 25-9, 25-18, 25-9 for a Division 2 West victory.

The Panthers were led by Jo Bailey with eight kills, three blocks, two digs, 11 aces and 19 points; Sarah Harvey with six kills, seven digs and five points; Lilly Odell with six kills, one assist, one dig and three points; and Mandy Brink with one kill, 10 assists, 2 digs, 16 points and five aces.

The Hornets were led by Makayla Press with two kills, six assists and five aces; Gracie Johnson with two kills, three blocks and six digs; and Dakota VanArsdale with two kills and six digs.

Panama improved to 9-4 overall and 9-2 in league while Forestville is now 3-9-1 overall and 3-8 in league.

WESTFIELD WINS IN 3

BROCTON — Westfield defeated Brocton in three sets, 25-17, 25- 13, 25-20 for a Division 2 West victory.

The Wolverines were led by Tanleigh Bestine with 19 assists and three kills and Keara Kincaid with nine kills and six aces.

The Bulldogs were led by Savanna Krystofiak with three kills, one block and three aces; and Andrea Spiller with two aces, three assists and one block.

Westfield is now 6-7 overall and 4-7 in league while Brocton is 0-10 overall and 0-9 in league.

TROJANS SWEEP RED RAIDERS

WEST ELLICOTT — Southwestern topped Jamestown in three sets, 25-16, 25-22, 25-16 for a Division 1 West victory at Southwestern.

Southwestern was led by Lauren Cotter with three aces, two blocks, 14 kills and 10 digs; Anna Rauh with two aces, one block, 12 kills and 13 digs; Arrington Restivo with 21 assists and five digs; Katie Lowe: four aces, five blocks, five kills, three assists and six digs; and Jaidyn Newhouse with two aces, five blocks, two kills and four digs.

Jamestown was led by Hannah Grey with 21 assists; Kylie O’Brien with 10 kills and 14 digs; and Aubrey Reynolds with two aces and 10 digs.

The Trojans improved to 11-3 overall and 8-3 in league while the Red Raiders dropped to 6-5 overall and in league.

GATORS TOP ‘BILLIES

ALLEGANY — Allegany-Limestone defeated Fredonia in three sets, 25-14, 26-24, 25-15 for a Division 1 West victory.

The Gators improved to 10-4 overall and 7-4 in league while Fredonia falls to 1-12 overall and 1-10 in league.

WOLVES KNOCK OFF COUGARS

CLYMER — Clymer/Sherman defeated Cassadaga Valley in four sets, 25-10, 23-25, 25-19, 25-20 for a Division 2 West victory.

With the win the Wolves improved to 6-8 overall and 4-8 in league while the Cougars fell to 10-6 overall and 6-6 in league.

PORTVILLE BEATS FALCONER

PORTVILLE — Portville defeated Falconer in three sets, 25-16, 25-14, 25-11 for a Division 1 West victory.

Portville was led by Olivia Cook with 14 kills, one assist, six digs and two aces; Tori Unverdorben with seven kills, one assist, 11 digs and two aces; and Kylie Blessing with 28 assists and four aces.

Portville improved to 12-1 overall and 12-0 in league while Falconer dropped to 9-6 overall and 6-6 in league.
