Fredonia falls to Southwestern

Southwestern defeated Fredonia 5-2 in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association West Division boys soccer Tuesday night at SUNY Fredonia.

The game was tied 1-1 at halftime. The Trojans (9-4-1, 5-2-1) scored four goals in the second half. Connor Young had two goals to lead the Trojans. Oliver Hagel and McKay Young each had one goal and one assist. Nolan Froah added a goal. Jonas Geising was in goal.

Sal Tabone had both of the goals for the Hillbillies (6-9-0, 5-4-0). Sam Murphy and Gabe Schrader had the assists. Trevor Persch was in goal and made eight saves.

GATORS STAY PERFECT

Eric Spring had four goals while Jacob Marino and Josh Graham each had two as Allegany-Limestone beat Dunkirk 12-0 in the West Division.

Zach Luce, Huddy Kwiatkowski, Mason Deming and Ryan Roulo also scored for the Gators (15-0-0, 9-0-0), who have been scored upon just once this season. Cooper Wilczewski had three assists and Tyler Curran had two while Matthew Rohrbacher, Deming and Luce each had one.

FREEMAN NETS WINNER

CATTARAUGUS — Cooper Freeman’s goal from Drew Hind in the 72nd minute sent Randolph past Salamanca/Cattaraugus-Little Valley 3-2 in the East Division.

Freeman finished with two goals and an assist while Mathurin Griffin had a goal and an assist for the Cardinals (4-7-1, 3-6-0).

Kendell Valvo and Andrew Herrick scored for Salamanca/Cattaraugus-Little Valley (0-14-0, 0-9-0) while Jorden Ambuske had an assist.

CARR LIFTS BEARS

SILVER CREEK — Zack Carr had two goals and an assist to lead Frewsburg to a 6-0 shutout of Silver Creek/Forestville in the Central Division.

Jackie Barmatosta had a goal and two assists while Brendan Devereaux, Connor Murray and Ryan Eckman also scored for the Bears (8-6-1, 5-4-0). Gavin Smith, Brayden Lobb and Garrett Brink had assists.

The Black Knights fell to 0-8-0 overall and 0-6-0 in the league.

HOLLAND TALLIES A PAIR

WESTFIELD — Cole Holland scored twice as Westfield/Brocton blanked North Collins 4-0 in the Central Division.

Andrew Nellis and Darien Swanson also scored for the Wolverines (6-4-1, 5-3-0). Carson Swanson, Josh Barresi, Aiden Gatto and Darien Swanson each had an assist.

The Eagles fell to 5-9-0 overall and 2-7-0 in the league.

PORTVILLE BLANKS EAGLES

PORTVILLE — Michael Cole, Nathan Petryszak and Nick Harmon each scored a goal for Portville in a 3-0 East Division shutout of Ellicottville.

Brady German had an assist for the Panthers (13-0-1, 9-0-0).

The Eagles fell to 4-9-1 overall and 4-5-0 in the league.

HUSKIES SHUT OUT JAMESTOWN

JAMESTOWN — Olean handed Jamestown a 6-0 West Division defeat.

The Huskies improved to 6-8-1 overall and 4-4-1 in the league while the Red Raiders fell to 2-8-0 overall and 2-7-0 in the league.

GIRLS

RAIDERS FALL TO DUNKIRK

Dunkirk shut out Jamestown 3-0 for a Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association West Division girls soccer victory on Tuesday.

The Marauders were led by two goals from Lauryn McCracken and one from Tayler Skelly. Angelina Piede, Brianna Casey and Siera Jacques all contributed one assist while Summer Clark made four saves for the clean sheet.

Dunkirk improved to 5-9-1 overall and 5-6-1 in the division while Jamestown dropped to 2-11-0 overall and 0-10-0 in league.

EAGLES TOP PANTHERS

SOUTH DAYTON — Ellicottville defeated Pine Valley/Gowanda 7-3 in East Division action.

The Panthers effort was led by goals from Rhianna Bibeau, Margaret King and Alexis Tunstall. Sarah Kruszka and Mattison Cadle both had one assist while Sydney Dahl made 26 saves in net.

Ellicottville improved to 12-3-0 overall and 11-2-0 in league while Pine Valley/Gowanda dropped to 3-10-2 overall and 3-8-1 in league.
