Gators defeat Hillbillies in overtime

ALLEGANY — Allegany-Limestone defeated Fredonia, 2-1, in overtime in West Division boys soccer action on Thursday.

Josh Reynolds put Fredonia (6-10-0, 5-5-0) ahead, 1-0, off a corner kick from Zach Hall in the 47th minute. The Gators (16-0-0, 10-0-0) scored in the 68th minute and four minutes into overtime.

Trevor Persch had 10 saves in goal for Fredonia.

EAGLES TIE GOLDEN COUGARS

ELLICOTTVILLE — Falconer/Cassadaga Valley tied Ellicottville, 0-0, in East Division action.

Evan Bauer made 14 saves for Ellicottville and Carson Olson made eight saves for Falconer/Cassadaga Valley for clean sheets.

Ellicottville is now 4-9-2 overall and 4-5-1 in league while Falconer/Cassadaga Valley is 9-4-1 overall and 7-2-1 in league.

BEARS, T’BIRDS DRAW

FREWSBURG — Frewsburg tied Chautauqua Lake, 1-1, in Central Divsion action.

The Bears’ goal came from Trent Bjork assisted by Zack Carr.

The Thunderbirds’ goal scorer was Elias Quintero, assisted by Kameron Press.

Frewsburg is now 8-6-2 overall and 5-4-1 in league while Chautauqua Lake is 7-4-1 overall and 5-3-1 in league.

RED DRAGONS BLANK WOLVERINES

BEMUS POINT — Maple Grove defeated Westfield/Brocton, 6-0, in Central Division play.

The Red Dragons were led by a hat trick from Eli Moore and one goal from RJ Helt, Keegan Rishel and Fletcher Demink. Matt Trim, Trent Moore and Luis Gradewald all had one assist.

Maple Grove improved to 12-2-0 overall and 8-1-0 in league while Westfield/Brocton dropped to 6-5-1 overall and 5-4-0 in league.

LIBBY TALLIES HAT TRICK

SOUTH DAYTON — Pine Valley/Gowanda defeated Salamanca/Cattaraugus-Little Valley, 5-1, for a East Division victory.

The Panthers were powered by a Wayne Libby hat trick, a goal from Matthew Hostetter and a final tally from Brendan Butcher. Noah Frontuto had two assists, and Hostetter, Jack Sheldon and Christopher King each had one helper.

The lone Warriors’ goal was scored by Andrew Herrick unassisted.

The Panthers improved to 5-7-0 overall and 5-5-0 in league while the Warriors dropped to 0-15-0 overall and 0-10-0 in league.
