SILVER CREEK — Sandra Harris Lindstrom is seeking re-election to a second term as a Village of Silver Creek trustee running on the Republican ballot line.
She grew up in West Seneca and graduated from West Seneca West High School. Lindstrom has been a village resident for 32 years.
She earned a bachelor of science degree in education and a master’s of science degree in education majoring in Communication Disorders from the State University College at Buffalo. While practicing she held a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American-Speech-Language and Hearing Association and a state license.
She is retired from the Lake Shore Central School District where she was a Speech and Language Pathologist at Highland Elementary School In Derby. Lindstrom was also a Title VI Native American tutor and continues to be a substitute teacher for the district.
Lindstrom has served on the Board of Trustees for the village since 2020. For the years prior to her election, she was a consistent attendee at Village Board meetings and was a 20 year member of the planning board. She currently serves as board liaison to the Planning Board. She has developed a deep understanding of our village, our challenges, and our opportunities.
“We’ve accomplished a lot in our village. We reduced taxes, received multiple grants, converted Sodium Vapor lights to L.E.D. lighting, added an addition to the pavilion, purchased equipment for the fire and emergency departments and the Department of Public Works, kayak launch, rip- rap at George Borrello Park, and Music in the Park.”
The COVID-19 pandemic presented new challenges to the village. On two occasions it partnered with FEEDMORE WNY to provide food assistance with a drive-through mobile food pantry. The mayor and the trustees also organized and distributed PPE to village businesses.
As trustee, she and her fellow board members will continue to focus their efforts on fiscal responsibility, code and zoning enforcement, public safety, upgrading the camera system, securing funding with the Town of Hanover for a splash pad, and proactive municipal leadership resulting in actions for the best interest of our community as a whole, while continually improving the quality of life.
“The quality that distinguishes me from my challengers is my municipal experience gained through my work on the village of Silver Creek board and the planning board”
“I am committed to attaining the best results for our village and ensuring that Silver Creek thrives as the community we take pride in calling home.”
