Rukavina, Gondek lift Fredonia girls to win; boys fall at Frontier, 1-0
OBSERVER staff report
WESTFIELD — Ava Rukavina and Annie Gondek scored a goal apiece as Fredonia upended Westfield/Brocton, 2-0, in a girls soccer game Saturday.
Emily Timmerman and Francesca Pucci added assists for the Hillbillies. Kyleigh Waterman made eight saves.
TROJANS ROLL
Brynne Conley scored a pair of goals and Melissa DeVore added three assists as Southwestern downed Dunkirk.
Joslyn Brown and Emma Malmstrom-Jouannet both found the back of the net. Ellie Lawton added an assist in support of keeper Reece Beaver who collected two saves.
EAGLES POST SHUTOUT
ELLICOTTVILLE — Behind three goals by Brooke Butler and two by Jocelyn Wyatt, Ellicottville rolled to an 8-0 victory over Franklinville.
Butler also added a pair of assists in support of goalies Abby Chudy and Katie Krotz.
Also finding the back of the net for the winners were Mandy Hurlburt, Emilee Ruiz and Alysa Williams. Hurlburt, Ruiz and Marissa Clark also had assists.

HAMBURG — Nathan DiGuadio scored –a goal in the 75th minute on an assist by Joshua Walters to lead Frontier to a 1-0 nonleague victory over Fredonia.

SALAMANCA — Ellicottville defeated Salamanca/Cattaraugus-Little Valley, 4-2.
Andrew Herrick had both goals for Salamanca/Cattaraugus-Little Valley.

NORTH COLLINS — North Collins defeated Eden, 5-0.

North Collins downed Salamanca, 25-12, 25-12, 25-10, in a volleyball match.
Lezly McComber ahd three blocks and one kill; and Madison Hoag, Karina Crouse and Jillian Rea all had two aces for the Warriors.

BLACK KNIGHTS FALL
BUFFALO — Jeff Pilarski threw touchdown passes of 31 and 52 yards and scored another TD on a 59-yard run to lift Bishop Timon-St. Jude to a 26-14 victory over Silver Creek/Forestville in a nonleague football game Thursday night.
The Black Knights were led by Matt Woleben, who rushed for 73 yards and a touchdown, and Aiden Piccolo who had 46 yards on the ground and a TD.
