FREDONIA — Adam Fred, Steven Zentz and Matt Dunn won three events apiece for the Dunkirk/Forestville/Fredonia swim team, but the Marauders fell to Olean/Allegany-Limestone/Franklinville 107-73 in a Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association meet Monday night.

“The team had a pretty good first meet, especially given that … we were missing three swimmers for health reasons and … we were swimming in a different setting due to equipment failures in our home pool,” Coach Allie Saye said. “There are quite a few new swimmers on the team this year from three different schools, but they work hard, and they work well together, and it is an honor to be their coach.”

Fred recorded Class B times in the 50-yard freestyle and 100 butterfly; Zentz did the same in the 200 and 500 freestyles; and Dunn claimed a Section VI time in the 100 backstroke and a Class B time in the 200 individual medley.
