Pine Valley girls win in Nobles’ return

SOUTH DAYTON — Tim Nobles’ return to the Pine Valley sideline was a successful one Wednesday evening.

Freshman Danielle West scored 13 points as the Panthers beat Cassadaga Valley 38-33 in nonleague action.

The Cougars (0-2) led 14-13 at halftime, but Pine Valley (1-0) outscored Cassadaga Valley 25-19 after the break.

Margaret King made a pair of free throws and West added another free throw in the final couple of minutes to preserve the win.

Trista Farnham had eight of the Panthers’ 38 rebounds and Kaitlyn Hayes handed out four assists.

Emiley Anderson led the Cougars with 14 points.
