Fearless Freddie’s Football Forecast

TICK, TOCK. Just what WNY needs, another phrase to trigger our horrible memories. “Wide Right,” “No Goal” and “Music City Miracle” have now been joined by “13 Seconds” to become perpetually seared into our collective sports consciousness. It’s almost too much.

Good thing Josh Allen has plenty of good football ahead of him and is playing on a lengthy contract. He played two nearly flawless games in this postseason, prompting either premature or prescient Hall of Fame chatter. It will be fun to watch.

The Jim Kelly crew made it to four straight Super Bowls. I’ll settle for one in the Mahomes Era.

Looking ahead to this weekend’s anticlimactic Conference Championship games, go with the home teams. The Chiefs have too much firepower for the Bengals, whose offensive line will be overwhelmed. Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Rams are destined to host the Super Bowl and will have little trouble with the 49ers this time around.

HOME teams are capitalized. Teams picked to win the game are listed first, followed by the expected margin of victory. The official Las Vegas odds are in parentheses.
