Silver Creek suffers loss to Panama
SILVER CREEK — Panama made 11 of 14 free throws in the fourth quarter to hold off Silver Creek for a 55-46 Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 2 West girls basketball win Wednesday.
Kylie Morgan scored all 9 of her points in the final eight minutes, including three free throws. Mandy Brink added 4-of-4 shooting from the charity stripe and Maddie Lisciandro was 4 of 6 from the line.
Brink finished with a team-high 20 points to go along with seven steals and four assists; Lisciandro had 8 points, seven rebounds, five steals and three assists; Lilly Odell had six rebounds; and Morgan had five rebounds for the Panthers (6-4, 2-1).
Abby Rice paced the Black Knights (7-3, 0-2) with 25 points, 10 rebounds, four assists and four steals while Jade Bouvier had 8 points, seven rebounds and five steals. Malani Eldridge chipped in four assists and six rebounds.
Rice, a senior, is closing in on 1,000 career rebounds and 2,000 career points with Silver Creek’s next game scheduled for Friday at Chautauqua Lake.

PANTHERS BUCKLE DOWN
SALAMANCA — Pine Valley held Salamanca to just 7 points over the final three quarters en route to a 44-17 East Division victory.
Danielle West led the Panthers (4-7, 3-1) with 17 points to go along with six rebounds and six steals. Cassidy Vincent had six rebounds and Maggie King picked up five steals.
Karina Crouse led the Warriors (2-6, 2-2) with 7 points and Bella Wolfe had 13 rebounds while Morgan Maybee and Makenzie Oakes each had six rebounds.

RICE LEADS NORTH COLLINS
NORTH COLLINS — Michaela Rice scored 20 points to lead North Collins to a 35-30 East Division victory over Cattaraugus-Little Valley.
The Eagles (4-4, 2-3) led 9-2 after the first quarter, but the Timberwolves (3-6, 1-3) pulled within three after three quarters at 24-21.
North Collins put the game away with an 11-9 fourth quarter.
