64 on the Rocks, Lakeview Shock win CCHA titles

The CCHA championship hockey games were held at Steele Hall Arena last weekend.
By the end of the tournament, the A Division champion was 64 on the Rocks and the B Division winner was the Lakeview Shock.
The A Division opened on Friday night with BJ’s taking the first game of the series with a 3-2 win. Garret Jones scored two goals and an added an assist and Mike Nelson scored once and assisted on another for BJ’s.
On Saturday night, 64 on the Rocks evened up the series with a 4-2 win. Cory Dziduch scored twice and Ryan Thompson and Eric Gunderson added one apiece. Both Justin Giles and Nick Huyck recorded two assists for 64 on the Rocks.
In Sunday’s deciding game, Gunderson collected a hat trick in the 7-3 victory for 64 on the Rocks. Mike Burnett added two goals while Huyck and Kevin Salemi each scored once. Dziduch recorded two assists while Alex Michalak and Giles each had one assist. AJ Riforgiat was the winning goalie for 64 on the Rocks.

Jerry Tramuta scored twice and Jones added another to lead BJ’s effort. Jeff Carlson had the assist on all three goals and Kaine Hidy was in net for BJ’s the whole series.
B DIVISION
On Friday, Kosciuszko Club picked up a 2-1 win over Lakeview Shock. Lina Mirabella and Adam Woelfle scored the goals for Kosciuszko Club while Matt Dorler had the lone goal for Lakeview Shock.
Lakeview Shock evened the series on Saturday night with a 4-2 victory. Jim Eschberger had a three-point night with a goal and two assists to lead the Shock. Tony Privitera added a goal and an assist while Cameron Michaud and Jeff Gearhart both scored a goal.
Chris Nickle and Woelfle each scored once for Kosciuzko.
In the deciding game, Lakeview goalie Brian Lillie came up big, posting a shutout in the 3-0 victory. Matt Polvino scored twice while Eric Herman talllied once. Eschberger, Mark Taylor, Michaud, Chris Paluch and Privitera all had one assist.
Rob Laskowski was in net for Kosciuszko Club in the loss.
