Pine Valley rolls past Cassadaga Valley 7-1 in Division 2
SINCLAIRVILLE — The Pine Valley Panthers defeated Cassadaga Valley 7-1 in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 2 baseball action on Wednesday.
Donovan Guglielmi pitched the win for the Panthers, throwing six innings and striking out 10. Guglielmi also went 2-for-3 with a double, Bryce Sercu went 3-for-3 and Craig Howard doubled.
The Cougars were led by Kyle Ingersoll, who was 2-for-3 with a double, and Calvin Hilliker, who went 2-for-3. Hunter Johnson struck out seven.
FRANKLINVILLE
WALKS OFF
FRANKLINVILLE — Franklinville walked off against Silver Creek/Forestville 4-3 in Division 2 action.
Franklinville Beau Bielecki hit the game-winning double in the bottom of the seventh and Matt Splitter hit two singles and scored a run. Blake Frank pitched all seven innings, struck out four and walked one.
The Black Knights were led by Brayson Parsell with two RBIs, while Aiden Piccolo and Caleb Fiegl both had two hits and scored. Cade Newubauer pitched six innings, struck out seven, walked three and gave up one earned run.
RAIDERS RALLY
JAMESTOWN — Jamestown scored eight runs in the bottom of the sixth to get past Dunkirk 11-6 in Division 1 action.
Juan Matos led the Red Raiders with three hits and three RBIs; Nate Torres doubled; and Mason Chapman knocked in three runs. Torres was also the winning pitcher after relieving John Torres Jr. who pitched five innings and struck out three and walked three.
Dunkirk was led by Javi DeJesus, Zach Zentz and Scott Korzenski with a double each. Nick Zatorski pitched 5 2/3 innings with seven strikeouts.
WOLFPACK PREVAILS
MAYVILLE — Kurtis Olson and Ian Dunnewold had run-scoring singles to highlight a three-run fifth inning to lead Clymer/Sherman/Panama to a 10-6 six-inning victory over Chautauqua Lake in a Division 2 West game.
Olson, Bryce Hinsdale and winning pitcher Trent Burchanowski all had two hits for the Wolfpack (13-1, 12-1).
Kalen Miller and Owen Reyda (two RBIs) had two hits apiece for the Thunderbirds (4-7, 4-7).
