Holt shines with ‘Maddie’ in Hamburg

HAMBURG — Alana Holt and her horse SS Lady Madonna recently won first place in a number of classes at the 2022 Arabian Horse Association of New York Eastern Classic horse show at the Eric County Fairgrounds.

The pair competed over three days in both the Junior Division and Amateur Division.

Alana and “Maddie” were judged as unanimous winners in the Junior Owner Arabian Hunter Pleasure Class and the Junior Arabian Hunter Pleasure Class.

Their efforts also enabled them to win blue ribbons in the Hunt Seat Equitation 18-and-Under Class and the Amateur Arabian Hunter Pleasure Class.

In Sunday’s championship classes, Alana and “Maddie” competed in the Arabian Hunter Pleasure championship and again were declared unanimous winners with a championship ribbon.

As a result of their success over the course of the weekend, they were named high points winners in the Junior Exhibitor Division and presented with a plaque recognizing their accomplishments.

Alana and “Maddie” train out of Jaxon’s Sky Equestrian Center, owned and operated by Olivia and Joe Van Schoonhoven in West Falls.
