Valledolmo Invite returns to Shorewood
After a nearly 30-year absence the Valledolmo Invitational Golf Classic returned to Shorewood Country Club on Monday.
Rich Conti was the overall champion winning the Paul LoPresto Memorial Trophy.
Sam Alessi captured the senior title and was awarded the Bob Valvo Memorial Trophy.
The Vito Corleone Flight was won by Gene Kaszuba with Ron Johnson the runner-up.
The Sonny Corleone Flight was won by Jeff Steger with Vince Manzella the runner-up.
The Michael Corleone Flight was won by Dan Astry with Steve Barnes the runner-up.
The Peter Clemenza Flight was won by Joe Nelson with Matt Fortna the runner-up.
Skins, all birdies, were earned by Matt Fortna, Gene Kaszuba, Dan Astry, Chuck Civiletto, Jeff Steger and Matt Fortna.
Closest to the pin winners were Chuck Civiletto, Tom Destro, Matt Fortna and Spanky Zatorski.
Despite dodging off-and-on rain, the players got all 18 holes completed.
All proceeds will go to the junior golf program at Shorewood Country Club. The program is open to young golfers regardless of membership status.
