FRANKLINVILLE — Lucas Hoffman had a big weekend on the mats for the Fredonia/Silver Creek/Forestville/Brocton boys wrestling team, claiming three wins via pinfall at the Franklinville Tournament on his way to a first-place finish at 118 pounds.

Dawson Russo came up just short for the Hillbillies as he had two pins on the way to a second-place finish at 189 pounds. Albert Baxter also had two pins for the ‘Billies and came in fifth at 215 pounds.

Ian Woods earned a fourth-place finish at 172 pounds and Jacob Lemke took fifth in the same class, while Cannon LeGrano took sixth at 102 pounds in a successful weekend for the Hillbillies.

As a team, the Gowanda Panthers took fourth at the tournament on the backs of first-place finishes from Nakotah Jackson and Michael Horth. Adding to the Panthers’ point total was Nate Warrior take second, Kaleb Smith finishing third Greg Reid and Jayson Twoguns earned fourth, and Darrin Sherlock and Brayden Lee both took sixth.
