BUFFALO — Behind five first-place finishers, Falconer/Cassadaga Valley won the Section VI Class B wrestling title Saturday at the Charter School for Applied Technologies.

Dylan Newman (102 pounds), Karsen Lundgren (110 pounds), Austin Chase (145 pounds), Brodie Little (160 pounds) and Dalton Caldwell (189 pounds) all won their weight classes as the Golden Cougars finished with 247.5 points.

Pioneer was second with 229 points followed by Iroquois (168), Lake Shore (111) and Olean (102). Fredonia/Silver Creek was sixth with 99 points and Dunkirk was seventh with 79 points.

The top five individual finishers in each weight class Saturday qualified for next Saturday’s Section VI Division II state qualifier at Lake Shore High School.

Hunter Paulisick (126 pounds) finished second for Falconer/Cassadaga Valley; Charlie Reichenbach (Bryant Morrison (172 pounds) and Thi Quelle VanGuilder (285 pounds) were third; Gabe Lundmark (118 pounds) was fourth; and Mason Kilmer (152 pounds) was fifth.

Lucas Hoffman was Fredonia/Silver Creek’s lone champion with the title at 118 pounds. Cameron Ingram (132 pounds) and Dawson Russo (189 pounds) took third; Jacob Lemke (172 pounds) was fourth; and Dominick Collazo (189 pounds) was fifth.

Dunkirk’s top finisher was Christian Hernandez in second place at 215 pounds. Issiah Ruiz (110 pounds) was third; Michael Hanlon (160 pounds) was fourth; and Jordin Bautista-Cruz (172 pounds) and Donner Jakubowicz (215 pounds) were fifth.
