NCCS trims Notre Dame

Jenna Fryberger got out of a bases-loaded jam in the seventh inning as the Northern Chautauqua Catholic School Monarchs beat Notre Dame Academy 9-8.

Fryberger came in to pitch with runners on first and second in the top of the seventh inning with two outs. After hitting the first batter she faced to load the bases, Fryberger picked up a strikeout to end the game.

Isabella Buckley allowed four hits and struck out seven in the first four innings before Sophia Burrows got eight outs while allowing no hits and striking out three.

Fryberger was 2 for 2 with a triple, two RBIs and two runs scored; Buckley was 2 for 3 with an RBI and two runs scored; McKenna Crawford tripled, drove in a run and scored two runs; and Chelsey Tramuto, Burrows and Maggie Mikula each hit a single.
