Jamestown claims CCAA Division 1 3-man golf title

Jamestown shot a team total of 245 to win the Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 1 3-man championship Friday.

Evan Maloney, the third-place individual finisher with a 79, led the Red Raiders while Tyler Maloney shot an 80 and Tyler Salvaggio had an 86.

Southwestern finished second with a team total of 251, led by individual medalist Griffin Bogdanowicz’s 76. Zach Rhodes fired an 85 and Brady Lindstrom had a 90.

Falconer was third with a 252. Cole Barber led the Golden Falcons with an 81, Tage Pierce had an 85 and Curtis Hannon had an 86.

Fredonia was fourth with a 270. Lucas Hoffman shot an 81, Grant Abbey had a 92 and Cannon Legrano fired a 97.

Olean was fifth with a 275. Talan Stitt shot an 88 followed by Drew Brokaw (89) and Cameron Bartman (98).

Chautauqua Lake/Westfield/Sherman/Panama finished with a 278, led by Carson Swanson’s 82. Lucas Lisciandro shot a 94 and Jacob Ferranto had a 102.

Cassadaga Valley finished with a 287. Ace Pierce had a 91 followed by Hunter Cleland (96) and Aiden Gierlinger (100).

Dunkirk was eighth with a 313. Second-place individual finisher Robert Kozlowski shot a 77 followed by Michael Sutherland (105) and Hans Lemiszko (131).

Maple Grove was incomplete, but the Red Dragons’ Evan Steffen and Gavin Rodgers both shot 86s.

For the season, the league’s First-Team All-Stars and their scoring averages were: Steffen (36.9), Bogdanowicz (39.25), Kozlowski (39.5), Evan Maloney (40.2), Fredonia’s Ryan Kelly (40.25) and Swanson (41.09).

The Second-Team All-Stars were: Hannon (42.15), Hoffman (42.33), Stitt (42.6), Rhodes (42.6), Abbey (42.9) and Lindstrom (43.08).

Cassadaga Valley won the Team Sportsmanship Award and Kozlowski was given the Individual Sportsmanship Award.

Southwestern won the league title with a 14-2 record followed by Jamestown (13-3), Fredonia (10-6) and Maple Grove (10-6), Falconer (9-7), Olean (8-8), Chautauqua Lake/Westfield/Sherman/Panama (6-10), Cassadaga Valley (4-12) and Dunkirk (0-16).

HOFFMAN SHOOTS 43

CASSADAGA — Fredonia’s Sydnee Hoffman shot a medalist round of 43 to lead the Hillbillies past Cassadaga Valley/Maple Grove 30.5-24.5 in girls golf at Cassadaga Country Club on Friday.

Jocelyn Wintersteen led the hosts with a 45.
