NCCS picks up three softball victories

Jenna Fryberger went 2 for 2 with a double, two runs scored and three RBIs as Northern Chautauqua Catholic School beat Ss. Peter & Paul of Williamsville 12-0 in Game 1 of a doubleheader.

Chelsey Tramuto added a triple, two runs scored and an RBI; Isabella Buckey had a single, an RBI and two runs scored; and Sophia Burrows, Ava Valone and Maggie Mikula each hit two-run singles for NCCS.

In the circle, Buckley threw three no-hit scoreless innings with three strikeouts.

In Game 2, Fryberger had a home run, a double, four RBIs and two runs scored as NCCS won 14-0.

Tramuto had two hits, including a triple, two runs scored and an RBI; Burrows had two hits, two runs scored and three RBIs; Valone and Mikula were both 2 for 2 with two runs scored and an RBI; and Buckley doubled and drove in two runs.

In the circle, Tramuto threw three no-hit scoreless innings with seven strikeouts.

Northern Chautauqua Catholic School broke a 3-3 tie with six runs in the fifth inning and beat Notre Dame Academy 10-8 at Cazenovia Park.

Claire Dulak and Khloe Munson walked to start the fifth inning before Isabella Buckley hit a two-run double. McKenna Crawford then walked before Jenna Fryberger hit an RBI double. Chelsey Tramuto followed with a single and Maggie Mikula hit an RBI single.

Fryberger entered with a two-run lead and runners on first and second in the sixth inning. After hitting the first batter she faced to load the bases, she struck the final two batters out.

Buckley finished 2 for 3 with a double, two runs scored and two RBIs; Fryberger had two hits, including a double, and an RBI; Tramuto singled and scored twice; Burrows tripled and drove in a run; Mikula singled, drove in a run and scored a run; and Ava Valone, Mikaela Sciarrino and Munson all had singles.

Fryberger, Buckley and Burrows combined on a four-hitter with 12 strikeouts in the circle.
