For anyone that follows Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association softball and knows of North Collins senior catcher Hailey Jasinski, it came as a surprise to not see her name among those recognized by the New York State Sportswriters and Coaches Organization for Girls Sports.

Looking at the prolific numbers posted by Jasinski, her omission had to be an error and that was confirmed on Thursday. Due to an editing error by NYSSCOGS she was left off the list, but that was corrected to her position as a member of the First Team All-State in Class D.

Jasinski was a force to be reckoned with at the plate with an impressive .720 batting average, 2.367 OPS, 20 RBIs, five doubles, a triple, five home runs and 15 runs scored for the Eagles this season.

Jasinski joins Westfield’s Haleigh Dellow on the Class D First Team and Gowanda state champion Addison Kota on Class C First Team as the only athletes in the OBSERVER’s coverage area to reach the first team in their respective classes.

Starting at $4.00/week.
