Lions Club announces golf tourney

The Dunkirk-Fredonia Lions Club third annual golf tournament fundraiser will be held Saturday, Aug. 5 at the Vineyards Golf Course in Fredonia.

Registration will begin at 8 a.m. followed by golf at 9 a.m. There will be prizes for winning team, longest drives and more. Basket raffles and 50/50 raffles will also be available.

The cost is $75 per person and includes 18 holes of golf with a cart, hotdogs and beverages at the turn, and a chicken barbecue lunch following golf. In addition, there will be a hole-in-one contest with a winning prize of a new car, sponsored by Fredonia Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram. There are also opportunities for tee signage, raffle donations and sponsorship. To register a foursome, make a donation for the raffle, purchase tee signage, or for more information, contact Marty Klemann at 716-410-3720 or mtk33c@yahoo.com.

The money raised will be used by the Dunkirk Fredonia Lions Club to support its work in the community. The Lions Club endeavors to be of service in the area by helping with eyeglass and hearing aid financial help for those who cannot afford such; maintaining a durable medical equipment loan closet with items such as wheelchairs and walkers for those in need; contributing to local food pantries, sponsoring an annual coat drive; and awarding scholarships for high school seniors.

The club is always looking for new members and invite interested persons, with a desire for community service, to call 672-8509 for membership information. We are also on Facebook at Dunkirk-Fredonia Lions Club.
