DISTRICT 38 LITTLE LEAGUE

AREA B 13-16 ALL-STARS

Cassadaga went up 9-0 after four innings over Dunkirk behind the no-hit pitching combination of Nick Sweet (three innings pitched, six strikeouts and one walk) and Aiden Testa (one inning pitched, two strikeouts and three walks) and held on for the 9-7 win on Thursday.

Jackson Crowell came in and pitched the final 1 2/3 innings, allowing only two unearned runs, giving up one hit (three strikeouts, two walks) to earn the save.

Wyatt Rothwell (two hits), Crowell (two hits, double), Sweet (two hits), Testa, Tanner Olmstead and Brody Hawkins (double) paced the Cassadaga offense.

Patrick Sheehan and Alex Madurski had the base hits for Dunkirk. J. Vazquez pitched three innings of strong relief, allowing two runs on three hits with four strikeouts and a walk.

DISTRICT 38 LITTLE LEAGUE

AREA B 10-12 ALL-STARS

FREWSBURG — Colton Rhinehart and AJ Stewart combined on a three-hitter with 11 strikeouts as Falconer beat Frewsburg 7-1.

Falconer took a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning. Brody Taylor walked and Stewart was hit by a pitch before Rhinehart walked to load the bases. With one out, Ethan Dickerson hit a hard grounder to the shortstop that got to the outfield and plated two runs. With runners at first and third, Dickerson stole second and Rhinehart scored on a throwing error.

Frewsburg’s Colton Signorino walked with two outs, stole second, went to third on a wild pitch and scored on a wild pitch for his team’s lone run in the top of the third inning.

Falconer added its final four runs in the bottom of the third inning. Taylor walked with one out and Stewart followed with a single to center field. Rhinehart then reached on an infield single before Colton Smith hit a two-run single. Smith ended up on third and Rhinehart scored on an error before Smith scored the final run on a wild pitch.

Bryan Heald, Blake Eckman and Jackson Marsh combined to strike out 12 on the mound for Frewsburg. Gage Olmsted, Eckman and Heald each singled.

AREA B 8-10 ALL-STARS

FALCONER — Behind a strong defensive effort and the pitching of Caden Lacki, Rob Martin and Brody Beichner, Valley downed Gowanda 10-2.

Lacki, Martin and Beichner struck out three batters apiece. Cooper Davis led the way offensively with three hits for the winners.

Milo Williams and Bryson Olszewski collected a single apiece for Gowanda.
