Young shoots 78 to lead Senior Tour

UNION CITY, Pa. — Dave Young shot a 78 to lead the Asquith Senior Golf Tour during its stop at Union City Country Club on Monday.

Dan Benson led the White A Flight at even-zero while Bob Huber was minus-2 and Young was minus-4.

In the White B Flight, Paul Bell shot a 90 and was plus-7. Roger Overend was plus-4 and Dan Barry was plus-2.

Ross Cali led the Gold A Flight with an 80 and was plus-5. Brian Eckwahl was plus-4 and Ed Johnson was plus-3.

Bruce Carlson led the Gold B Flight with an 81 and was plus-6. Randy Carlson and Doug Wheeler were also plus-6.

The Gold C Flight was led by Larry Eidens’ 92 and plus-3. Russ Vacanti was also plus-3 and Paul Edson was plus-1.

Jeff Robinson led the Gold D Flight with a 98 and was plus-3. Tuck Underwood was plus-2 and Clyde Mohl was plus-1.

Randy Carlson was closest to the pin at Nos. 4 and 12. Bruce Carlson was closest at No. 8 and Craig Underwood was closest at No. 14.

Next week the tour will stop at Venango Valley Inn and Golf Course. On Aug. 8, Cardinal Hills Golf Course in Randolph will be the location.
