Dunkirk’s Perry to compete in NYSHPA tournament
CAMDEN — Pine Grove Horseshoe Club will once again host the New York State Horseshoe Pitcher’s Association State Championship Tournament on Sept. 2-3. More than 75 players from across the state will compete.
The top entries for the Men’s Championship class are Ken Fraser of North Bay, a nine-time defending state champion, Hall of Fame member G. David Scott of Endicott and Eric Conrad of Berkshire, a two-time state champion and Hall of Fame member.
The top entries for the Elder’s Championship class are Glenn Davis of Ontario and Jack Stenberg of Waterloo, a six-time defending Elder State champion and Hall of Fame member.
The top entries for the Women’s Championship class are Karen Graham of North Bay, a five-time women’s state champion and Hall of Fame member, Sue Laughlin of Montour Falls, a three-time women’s state champion, and Ellen Perry of Dunkirk, a six-time defending women’s state champion, Hall of Fame member and NYSHPA president.
