Stewart leads tour at Venango Valley
VENANGO, Pa. — Dave Stewart’s 75 led the Asquith Senior Tour during its stop at Venango Valley Inn and Golf Course on Monday.
Dave Young led the White A Flight with a 76 while Brian Rupczyk’s plus-5 led the Stableford scoring. John Northrup was also plus-5 and Dan Benson was plus-3.
Patrick Hartzel shot an 85 and Roger Overend was plus-7 to lead the White B Flight. Hartzel was plus-5 and Dave Gayton was plus-3.
In the Gold A Flight, Stewart’s 75 led the way along with Brian Eckwahl’s plus-6. Ross Cali was plus-4 as was Don Hustead.
Keith Swanson’s 83 led the Gold B Flight. Ron Wiley was plus-6 while Randy Carlson and Jim White were both plus-4.
Bruce Dudgeon shot an 85 to lead the Gold C Flight. Paul Edson and Russ Vacanti were both plus-6 while Bill Davenport was plus-5.
Tuck Underwood’s 94 led the Gold D Flight. Bruce Macy was plus-7 while Underwood and Art Asquith were both plus-5.
Closest-to-the-pin honors went to Vacanti at No. 4, Ed Johnson at No. 11 and Dudgeon at No. 13.
The tour will stop at Cardinal Hills Golf Course in Randolph next Tuesday followed by Culbertson Hills Golf Course in Edinboro, Pennsylvania, on Monday, Aug. 14.
