WEST ELLICOTT — Kaylyn Carnes netted a pair of goals to lead Southwestern past Falconer/Cassadaga Valley 3-0 in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 1 West action on Saturday at Charles A. Lawson Field.

Carnes scored the first two goals of the match, first assisted by Abbey Galati and then an unassisted tally. Lucy Brown added one more goal before halftime from Avery Johnson and Southwestern (5-2-1, 4-1-0) took a 3-0 lead.

Falconer/Cassadaga Valley (6-2-1, 3-2-1) relied on its goalkeeper Ellyson Baglia for eight saves, while Southwester received a clean sheet performance from Kenzie Rogers making four saves.

EAGLES SHUT OUT EDEN

NORTH COLLINS — Meadow Mitchell made 10 saves in net for North Collins to get past Eden 2-0 in nonleague action.

With Mitchell’s strong performance in net, North Collins (3-3-1, 1-3-1 CCAA D2 West) wouldn’t need much scoring help and it got it in the 20th minute when Jaylee Jimerson scored on an assist from Breanna Kaczanowski. An insurance goal was added in the 53rd minute when Novalee Schlenker netted another pass from Kaczanowski to go up 2-0 for the eventual win over Eden (3-5-2, 3-3-1 ECIC D4).
