Gowanda tops Ellicottville volleyball 3-1

GOWANDA — After dropping the first set, the Gowanda volleyball team rattled off three straight wins to defeat Ellicottville 3-1 by the scores 20-25, 25-19, 25-12, 25-22, for a Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association East Division victory on Saturday.

Elizabeth Green led the Panthers (5-2, 4-1) with eight aces, three kills and three digs; Holland Browning recorded three aces, eight kills, one block and 12 digs; Addison Kota contributed four aces, nine kills, a block and 13 digs; Jillian Gernatt had four aces, 28 assists and six digs; and Ella Luther added an ace and 29 digs.

Ellicottville (6-3, 4-2) was led by Natalee Leiper with 11 kills, an ace and five digs; Cora Norton recorded 10 kills, four aces and 10 digs; Dalayla Alexander had 17 digs and a kill; Ande Northrup contributed a kill, an ace, six digs and 25 assists; and Alivia Fisher added two aces, a kill and four digs.

NORTH COLLINS SWEEPS

NORTH COLLINS — North Collins picked up its second win of the season with a 3-0 sweep of West Valley/Franklinville in nonleague action on Saturday by scores of 25-11, 25-12, 25-9.

Zoe Kreinheder led the Eagles (2-6, 1-5 CCAA East) with 14 assists and four kills and Morgan Kreinheder added five kills in the victory.

West Valley/Franklinville (0-2) was led by Makenzie Chase with three kills and an ace.
