Alex Linderman scored in the first half and Brady Riehle scored in the second half to lead Olean past Fredonia 2-0 in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association West Division boys soccer Tuesday at SUNY Fredonia.
The Huskies improved to 3-5-0 overall and 2-1-0 in the league. Fredonia drops to 3-3-0 overall and 1-2-0 in the division.
VAUGHN STARS FOR TROJANS
JAMESTOWN -- Seth Vaughn had three goals and two assists to lead Southwestern to a 7-3 West Division victory over Jamestown at Strider Field.
Vaughn scored from Connor Young in the fourth minute and added another goal in the 24th minute before Young scored a pair of goals from Vaughn. Vaughn then completed his hat trick before Cole Johnson scored the final two goals for the Trojans (6-1-0, 3-0-0).
The Red Raiders fell to 2-5-0 overall and 1-2-0 in the league.
RED DRAGONS PREVAIL
SILVER CREEK -- Keegan Rishel had a goal and an assist as Maple Grove took a 2-0 halftime lead and held on for a 3-0 victory in Central Division action against Silver Creek.
Ty Kraft opened the scoring in the third minute before Rishel scored in the 15th minute for the Red Dragons (5-1-0, 3-0-0). After halftime, Drew Oste tallied from Rishel in the 44th minute.
The Black Knights fell to 2-5-0 overall and 0-3-0 in the league.
BRINK-SMITH CONNECTION SHINES
FREWSBURG -- Garrett Brink had a pair of goals from Gavin Smith as Frewsburg beat Chautauqua Lake 3-2 in the Central Division.
Ethan Swan scored the Bears' first goal in the 30th minute before Brink and Smith hooked up in the 32nd and 68th minutes. Kenton Dahlin made seven saves in net for Frewsburg (5-3-0, 2-1-0).
The Thunderbirds fell to 2-5-0 overall and 1-2-0 in the league.
WOLVERINES HOLD ON
NORTH COLLINS -- Tahner Stow scored from Anthony Gatto four minutes into the second half and Westfield/Brocton held off North Collins for a 3-2 Central Division win.
Carson Swanson opened the scoring in the seventh minute and scored fro Gatto in the 20th minute for the Wolverines (6-2-0, 2-1-0).
Derek Ebersole scored from Angelo Fera in the 43rd minute and from Scott Armbruster in the 77th minute for the Eagles (1-3-0, 1-2-0).
PORTVILLE BLANKS PINE VALLEY/GOWANDA
SOUTH DAYTON -- Owen Faulkner scored twice for Portville in a 7-0 East Division victory over Pine Valley/Gowanda.
Braedon Carter, Brady German, Garrett Reynolds, Troy VanSickle and Luke Edwards each added a goal for Portville (3-4-0, 1-2-0). German and Marcus Wilson each had two assists while Logan Zeigler, Scanlon Kaiden and Conner Roulo each had one.
Pine Valley/Gowanda fell to 0-7-0 overall and 0-3-0 in the league.
ELLICOTTVILLE COASTS
ELLICOTTVILLE -- Sam Edwards had three goals and four assists while Owen Doherty had three goals and an assist as Ellicottville beat Salamanca/Cattaraugus-Little Valley 13-0 in the East Division.
Maddox Johnson scored two goals; EJ Doherty, Jackson Kruszynski, Emmett Jacobson-Coolidge and Cameron Mendell each chipped in a goal and an assist; Aiden Harrington had a goal; and Kyle Robinson had two assists for the Eagles (6-2-0, 2-1-0).
The Warwolves fell to 1-6-0 overall and 1-2-0 in the league.
