Silver Creek pours in 9 vs. Panthers
SILVER CREEK — Seven first-half goals sent Silver Creek to a 9-1 nonleague boys soccer victory over Pine Valley/Gowanda on Thursday.
Dean League scored from Alex Karnes to give the Black Knights (1-1-0) a 1-0 lead in the sixth minute, but the Panthers (0-2-0) answered when Jack Sheldon tied the game from Jarrett Meyers in the seventh minute.
Silver Creek then scored the final eight goals. Karnes scored in the 11th minute and in the 14th minute from Zach Strychalski, Michael Grisanti scored from League in the 17th minute, Karnes scored from Grisanti in the 31st minute, Strychalski scored in the 33rd minute and League tallied from Grisanti in the 37th minute as the Black Knights led 7-1 at halftime.
Karnes added his fourth goal of the game in the 46th minute and League scored his third of the game in the 58th minute.
FREEMAN SCORES FIVE
MAYVILLE — Cooper Freeman had five goals and two assists to power Randolph past Chautauqua Lake 9-2 in nonleague play.
Diego Stradi opened the scoring from Freeman in the fourth minute before Freeman tallied from Ryder Smith in the sixth minute and Isaac Pihlblad in the 22nd minute for the Cardinals (2-0-0). Griffin Nelson scored in the 23rd minute and Freeman scored from Stradi in the 36th minute as the guests took a 5-0 halftime lead.
After the break, Nelson scored from Smith, Freeman scored from Stradi, Freeman scored again from Pihlblad and Stradi tallied from Freeman.
Kameron Press scored from Nate Henry in both the 61st and 65th minutes for the Thunderbirds (1-3-0).
SWANSON NETS TWO MORE
WESTFIELD — Carson Swanson scored his ninth and 10th goals of the season to lead Westfield/Brocton past Falconer/Cassadaga Valley 3-1 in nonleague play.
Swanson opened the scoring in the fourth minute fro Aiden Gatto before the Golden Cougars’ Ethyn Gilbert scored his sixth goal of the season in the fifth minute from Gabe Lundmark.
Anthony Gatto then gave the Wolverines (3-0-0) the lead for good when he tallied from Mihir Patel in the 39th minute.
Swanson scored his second of the game in the 45th minute from Gatto. Nolan Anderson made 12 saves for Westfield/Brocton.
Nathan Bailey made 11 saves for Falconer/Cassadaga Valley (2-2-0).
