On Friday, the Chautauqua Lake JV Volleyball team hosted its Summer Showdown tournament.

Jamestown, Gowanda, Fredonia and Southwestern participated. The teams were all competitive and the matches were all close.

Chautauqua Lake was able to beat Fredonia 25-16, 25-21 in the semifinals.

In the finals, they beat Southwestern 25-13 in the first set and lost the second set 19-25. The Thunderbirds were trailing Southwestern 8-2 in the 3rd set, but were able to come back to win 25-17.

Hayden Roush was named to the all tournament team and Kinslee Motter was named the Tournament MVP.
