T’birds sweep Wolves in D2 West
CLYMER — Ava Olson had eight kills, 18 assists, four aces and five digs to lead Chautauqua Lake to a 25-19, 25-19, 25-14 sweep of Clymer/Sherman in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 2 West girls volleyball action Wednesday.
Noli Paddock had six kills, two aces, three digs and three blocks while Brynn Engdahl chipped in seven kills, an ace and six digs for the Thunderbirds (2-1, 2-1).
Alexys Neckers led the Wolves (4-3, 3-3) with six kills and two digs; Lilly Martin had 10 digs and two aces; and Janelle Burchanowski contributed four aces, three kills and eight assists.
PANAMA STILL PERFECT
FORESTVILLE — Panama ran its record to 8-0 following a 25-9, 25-14, 25-17 victory over Forestville in a Division 2 West match.
The Panthers (6-0 in the division) were led by Kiera Loberg with 21 assists, four aces and five digs; Sarah Harvey collected 11 kills and three digs; and Emma Cooper chipped in eight kills, one block, two aces and one dig.
For the Hornets (1-6, 1-6), Megan Gruber had one kill, one block, three aces and three digs; Carilene Sliwa had two kills, one assist, one ace and five digs; and Kaitie LoManto added one kill, four assists, one ace and two digs.
EAGLES PREVAIL
WEST VALLEY — Ellicottville rolled to a 25-16, 25-8, 25-8 nonleague volleyball victory over West Valley/Franklinville.
Natalee Leiper led the way for the winners (5-2) with six kills and four aces; Izzy Coburn had six aces; and Dalayla Alexander chipped in nine digs.
KINCAID, WESTFIELD WIN
WESTFIELD — Keara Kincaid’s 11 kills, four digs and five aces led Westfield past Brocton 25-19, 25-14, 25-3 in Division 2 West action.
Tanleigh Bestine had 16 assists, two blocks and nine aces while Sydney Hotchkiss had four kills, a dig and two aces for the Wolverines (5-2, 4-2).
Evie Morrison led the Bulldogs (2-5, 2-4) with three kills, four assists, a block and a dig; Andrea Spiller had three kills, two assists, a block, a dig and two aces; and Grace Lundin had three digs.
Westfield, Silver Creek and Lake Shore will make up one pool of the Lake Shore Tournament on Friday. The other pool will feature Nichols, Cleveland Hill and City Honors.
BLACK KNIGHTS SWEEP
NORTH COLLINS — Gracie Williams had seven kills and two aces while Gianna Grabias added six kills, six assists and three blocks to lead Silver Creek past North Collins 25-21, 25-18, 25-20 in East Division play.
Lucille Jimerson had five kills and Josie Daniels had nine digs for the Black Knights (3-3, 2-3).
Zoe Kreinheder had five kills and Lilly Montaldi had four kills for the Eagles (1-5, 1-5).
BENSON SHINES FOR MG
SINCLAIRVILLE — Hannah Benson had 15 kills, 15 digs and six aces as Maple Grove beat Cassadaga Valley 25-16, 18-25, 25-19, 25-11 in Division 2 West play.
Ellery Yohe had 24 digs; Hayley Johnson had seven kills and three blocks; Lily Benedetto had four aces and 15 digs; and Cady Rodgers had eight aces for the Red Dragons (2-3, 2-2).
Emiley Anderson led the Cougars (0-6, 0-3) with four aces, two kills, an assist and a block.
