Southwestern, Frewsburg and North Collins claimed Section VI girls soccer championships this season at Class B, C and D, respectively. The three teams secured trips to the Far West Regionals and a couple players received recognition from the New York State Sportswriters & Coaches Organization for Girls Sports as all-state selections.
Southwestern’s Kaylyn Carnes made Second-Team all-state in Class B; Frewsburg’s Gracie Conlan earned Second-Team all-state while Taytum Jimerson is Fourth-Team all-state in Class C; and North Collins’ Jaylee Jimerson made Third-Team all-state in Class D, behind Ellicottville’s Audrey Hurlburt on Second-Team all-state.
Carnes was the most important player in the Trojans’ run to their first Far West Regionals appearance in girls soccer. She led the team with 16 goals and six assists from the midfield position.
Carnes was able to contribute to the offense in crucial games like the sectional final and Class B crossover game, picking up an assist in both. Then, on the flip side, Carnes helped Southwestern maintain possession and drop back into a more defensive role with the lead as the Trojans kept opponents off the scoreboard in the Section VI playoffs.
Making its third straight Far West Regional and winning its fourth straight sectional title, Frewsburg had two players recognized at the state level.

While Conlan led the defense, Jimerson paved the way for Frewsburg on offense with 20 goals and 15 assists. Jimerson’s point totals were good for No. 15 in all of Section VI, she was No. 17 in goals and tied for No. 4 in assists.
In Class D, Jaylee Jimerson scored the game-winning goal to secure North Collins the sectional title against Ellicottville. Jimerson led the Eagles with 11 goals and four assists, earning a Third-Team all-state selection.
On the other end of Jimerson’s game-winning goal was Ellicottville’s Audrey Hurlburt, but her efforts this season still received recognition at the state level. Hurlburt scored 16 goals and 9 assists on the year and was selected to Second-Team all-state.
