SILVER CREEK — The Silver Creek boys basketball team picked up its first win of the season Tuesday as it rolled past Sherman in nonleague action 45-24.

Ray Cortes picked up a double-double for the Black Knights as he posted a game-high 20 points and collected 10 rebounds. Brady Eick drained four treys for 12 points, Jose Pratts reeled in 13 rebounds while Simon White made six steals.

Sherman’s effort was led by Daniel Meeder with 7 points and 12 rebounds.

Silver Creek (1-1) is back in action on Friday when it entertains Dunkirk, while Sherman (0-1) travels to Forestville.

EBERSOLE POWERS NORTH COLLINS

WEST VALLEY — Derek Ebersole poured in eight 3-pointers on his way to a game-high 29 points to lead North Collins past West Valley 62-34 in nonleague action.

Ebersole also dished five assists and made five steals; Asher Parnitzke had a double-double with 10 points, 10 rebounds, three steals and a block; Zach Quiter grabbed four boards; and Daniel Downes made a block with four rebounds. See

West Valley’s effort was led by Jadon Schoepflin with 10 points.

North Collins (2-2, 1-0) is back in action on Thursday at Eden.
