Chautauqua Fusion will hold a tryout for its new National Team on Saturday, Jan. 20 from 6-8:30 p.m. at Park Church in Sinclairville. All players trying out should currently be in 11th grade or a grade below 11th and play on a varsity high school team.
Chautauqua Fusion has grown into the largest and most successful girl's travel basketball program in southwestern New York.
Last year, 11 New York girls all-state selections played on a Fusion travel team. In addition, several Fusion players have been 1,000-point scorers in high school and more than 35 Fusion alumni have gone on to play in college. Furthermore, all Fusion coaches have played and/or coached at the college or varsity high school level.
Fusion's new National Team will give local girls the opportunity to compete in some of the biggest basketball tournaments on the east coast and against some of the best players and teams in the country.
Players can register for the tryout on the Fusion Basketball Facebook page or by calling or texting Greg Hopkins at 716-640-3847.
