Dunkirk’s Lawrie 2nd in 600 meters at Houghton

HOUGHTON — Several local athletes fared well as Section VI held its third and final Varsity Select indoor meet of the season Saturday at Houghton University’s Kerr-Pegula Athletic Complex.

Falconer/Randolph/Frewsburg/Maple Grove’s Landon Stormer won the boys 55-meter dash in 6.60 seconds.

Jamestown’s Noah Burch won the boys long jump with a leap of 21 feet, 5 inches.

Franklinville/Ellicottville’s Tyyetta Herman won the girls 300-meter dash in 42 seconds and was second in the 55-meter dash in 7.53 seconds.

Dunkirk’s Lucas Lawrie was second in the boys 600 meters with a time of 1:26.53.

Jamestown’s Emily Cardinale finished second in the girls pole vault at a height of 9 feet, 6 inches.

Falconer/Randolph/Frewsburg/Maple Grove’s Gavin Stearns placed second in the boys high jump at a height of 5 feet, 10 inches.

Falconer/Randolph/Frewsburg/Maple Grove’s girls took second in the 1,600-meter relay with a time of 4:25.07.

Falconer/Randolph/Frewsburg/Maple Grove’s Charles Sundquist took third in the boys weight throw with a toss of 55 feet, 9.25 inches and Jamestown’s Javiana Matos was second in the girls weight throw with a heave of 38 feet, 9.25 inches.

Jamestown’s Belle Johnson was third in the girls 600 meters with a time of 1:44.06.

Dunkirk’s boys were third in the 1,600-meter relay with a time of 3:45.68.

Fredonia’s Callie Draggett placed fourth in the girls shot put with a toss of 30 feet, 5.5 inches.

Falconer/Randolph/Frewsburg/Maple Grove’s Jonah Foley finished fourth in the boys triple jump with a length of 40 feet, 4.5 inches.

Falconer/Randolph/Frewsburg/Maple Grove’s boys took fourth in the 800-meter relay with a time of 1:36.52.

Jamestown’s boys took fourth in the 3,200-meter relay with a time of 9:10.12 and Jamestown’s girls also took fourth in 11:07.09.

Jamestown’s Jaren Cotter was fifth in the boys 300-meter dash in 36.92 seconds.

Jamestown’s London Hamilton was fifth in the girls 1,000 meters with a time of 3:17.89.

Salamanca’s Isabella Milks finished fifth in the girls high jump at a height of 5 feet.
