Krenzer takes 2nd in breaststroke at Class B championships

AMHERST — Dunkirk/Fredonia/Forestville finished 12th with 86 points in the Section VI Class B boys swimming championships, which wrapped up Saturday at Sweet Home High School.

Trenton Krenzer was D/F/F’s top finisher with a second-place showing in the 100-yard breaststroke. Krenzer finished in 1:03.10, less than 2 seconds behind winner Liam Coen of Hamburg.

Williamsville East won the team championship with 337 points, followed by Hamburg (258), East Aurora (250), Williamsville South (246) and Lewiston-Porter (211).

Matt Dunn finished eighth overall in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 59.09 seconds.

Dunn also won the B Final of the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 58.28 seconds and Krenzer won the B Final of the 100-yard freestyle in 52.59 seconds.

D/F/F finished eighth overall in the 400-yard freestyle relay (3:44.09), third in the B Final of the 200-yard medley relay (1:52.68), sixth in the B Final of the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:51.55).
