Silver Creek boys hang on to beat Falconer
SILVER CREEK — The Silver Creek boys basketball team jumped out to a 10-point lead after the first quarter and hung on to edge Falconer 66-64 in a Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 1 East game Monday.
Leading the way for the Black Knights (10-6, 4-5) was Ray Cortes, who scored 20 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and dished out five assists. Jose Pratts added 17 points and 14 rebounds; Dimon White chipped in 14 points, five rebounds, three steals and three assists; and Brady Eick collected 13 points, six rebounds and two steals.
The Golden Falcons (8-8, 4-5) were paced by Mathis Baehr, who poured in a game-high 25 points, grabbed nine rebounds and dished out three assists. Teammate Roger Markham added 16 points, eight rebounds and three steals; and Bradyn Fuller chipped in seven boards.
