Draggett’s walk-off HR ends Fredonia’s 12-0 victory early

Callie Draggett went 2 for 4 with a triple and a two-run walk-off home run as Fredonia shut out Dunkirk 12-0 in six innings of Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 1 West action.

Leading 10-0 entering the sixth, Jordan Lucas singled before Draggett’s home run to left-center field ended the game.

Lucas finished 2 for 5 with a double; Danielle Palisin and Naomi Muck each had two hits; and Emily Schwertfeger tripled down the right-field line in her first varsity at-bat.

Lucas threw three no-hit innings with seven strikeouts before Palisin allowed two hits and struck out six in the final three innings for the Hillbillies (6-0, 5-0).

Chelsey Tramuto and Mackenzie Curry singled for the Marauders (1-6, 1-4). Kassidy Donisi struck out four and walked one in the circle.

MARTIN HAS

BIG DAY AT PLATE

CLYMER — Lily Martin went 3 for 4 with a double and five RBIs to power Clymer/Sherman past Frewsburg 11-8 in Division 2 West action.

Olivia Maleski was 4 for 4 with a double; Janelle Burchanowski was 3 for 4 with a double and three runs scored; and Kelsey Wagner also doubled for the Wolves (4-2, 4-2), who fell behind 3-0 in the top of the first inning before eventually leading 6-3.

“Lily Martin was huge for us and hit the ball hard,” Clymer/Sherman head coach Dave Bodamer said. “She took advantage of runners getting on base for her and she came through. Olivia Maleski and Janelle Burchanowski also were big on offense.”

Braelyn Stelmack was 2 for 3 with a double, an RBI and three runs scored; Teghan Trocki was 2 for 4 with an RBI and two runs scored; Skylar Waid went 2 for 4 with two RBIs and a run scored; and Kaylee Cappa had three hits for the Bears (2-4, 1-4), who tied the game at 6-all with a three-run top of the fourth inning.

Clymer/Sherman took an 8-6 lead in the bottom of the fourth inning and Frewsburg tied it at 8-all in the top of the sixth inning before the Wolves’ three-run bottom of the sixth. Martin’s two-run single was the key hit in the sixth.

ROSS SHINES

IN CIRCLE

SALAMANCA — Charli Ross threw a three-hitter with 10 strikeouts and three walks as Salamanca beat Jamestown 7-1 in nonleague action.

Kenzie Crouse was 3 for 4 with two doubles and two RBIs, while Marlee Maybee and Jaelynne Brown each hit a double for the Warriors (2-5, 1-4).

“We finally played seven innings of defense and pitched,” Salamanca head coach Paul Furlong said. “We made the routine plays and Charli Ross was around the plate the whole night.”

OLEAN DOWNS TROJANS

WEST ELLICOTT — Emma Edwards and Amy Campbell combined on a four-hitter to lead Olean to a 10-1 victory over Southwestern in a Division 1 West game.

Alaina Hirliman led the offense for the Huskies with four hits, including a double, and drove in three runs, while Ava Finch (double) and Anna Bates both collected two hits.

For the Trojans (3-4, 2-3), Siri Dubois smacked a double, and Alexis Beckerink, Alianna Barone (RBI) and Peyton Lillie each had a base hit.

GRUBER

STRIKES OUT 14

FORESTVILLE — Megan Gruber struck out 14 and walked one in a three-hitter as Forestville beat Brocton 12-2 in Division 1 East action.

The Hornets (3-2, 1-2) scored six runs in the first inning and another six in the second inning. Carilene Sliwa tripled to lead off the game and scored on an error. Jade Work singled and Madison Christian was hit by a pitch before Aspen VanArsdale picked up an RBI. Forestville then benefited from multiple errors before Jenna Emerson drove in the final run of the inning with a single.

Emerson finished 2 for 3 with three RBIs, while VanArsdale had two hits and an RBI.

Madison Sears threw four-plus innings of relief and struck out six while allowing just two hits after the Bulldogs (1-5, 0-4) fell behind 12-0. Haleigh Furman doubled, Maria Daughtery singled and scored a run, and Paige Miller singled for Brocton.

WEST, HOHL

POWER PANTHERS

SINCLAIRVILLE — Alyssa West and Paige Hohl both went 4 for 5 as Pine Valley topped Cassadaga Valley 18-4 in nonleague action.

West doubled in the second and third innings while also singling in the first and sixth innings.

The Panthers got on the board in the top of the first inning after Danica Farnham doubled. Then, there was a double from West and a single from Destiny Lindquist followed by a double from Paige Hohl.

The Panthers scored eight runs on six hits in the top of the sixth inning, including a two-run single by Danielle West.

Farnham gave up six hits and four runs (two earned), while striking out eight and walking one in the circle.

Brooke McCoy had two hits, an RBI and four runs scored, while Danielle West had two hits, two RBIs and two runs scored.

Hailey Anderson, Adrianna Meyers, Anna Burlingame and Faith McVey each had a hit for the Cougars, with Anderson driving in a run.
