Gowanda lacrosse teams move to top spots in leagues

GOWANDA — The Gowanda boys lacrosse team continued rolling through Class D with a 23-0 victory over Tonawanda on Tuesday night.

Croix Snow paced the Panthers (6-0, 6-0) with four goals and four assists, while Ha’tsihgahdo:d Stevens scored once and had six assists, Nakotah Jackson netted a hat trick with four assists, Winter Rivera scored three and had three helpers, Trelin Warrior had three goals and an assist, and the trio of Seneka Jackson, Cashis Montour and Nate Warrior all scored twice.

Faolan Quinn was called upon for one save.

Stevens picked up four ground balls and had one interception and Hodaweo:je’ John made three ground balls.

Tonawanda falls to 0-7 overall with the loss and 0-5 in Class D.

GIRLS TAKE TOP SPOT IN LEAGUE

GOWANDA — Chloe Luther scored eight goals and had one assist to lift the Gowanda girls past Niagara Falls 13-7 for the top spot in Conference 4.

Cadence Luther contributed a hat trick for the Panthers (6-2, 6-0), while Lily Scanlan netted a goal with three assists.

Sophia Contento paced Niagara Falls (6-1, 6-1) with four goals and an assist and Colette Printup netted a hat trick with a helper.

Nina Coulon made seven saves in net for the victory. Chloe Luther collected eight ground balls, while Cadence Luther and Felicia Scanlan both grabbed four.
