Fredonia’s Lucas, Palisin two-hit Dunkirk

DUNKIRK — Jordan Lucas and Danielle Palisin combined on a two-hitter and struck out 13 to send unbeaten Fredonia to a 13-0 five-inning victory over Dunkirk in a Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 1 West softball game Saturday.

The win raised the Hillbillies’ record to 15-0 overall and 11-0 in the division.

Jaelyn Davis (home run), Naomi Muck, Palisin, Cassie Cramer and Rihanna Benner all collected two hits for the winners, and teammate Bella Buckley belted a double in her first varsity at-bat.

Janessa Fred and Kassidy Donisi each had a hit for the Marauders (3-14).

CARDINALS PREVAIL

RANDOLPH — Jaclynn Flood had three hits, including a triple, and Abigail Pitts added three hits, including a pair of doubles, as Randolph beat Brocton 15-7 in Division 1 East action.

Pitts threw a complete game, scattering six hits while walking six and striking out 11 in the circle for the Cardinals (7-6, 6-4).

Aliza Hind had three hits, while Ryanne Bushey and Andi Frame each added a pair of hits for Randolph, which led 10-1 after two innings.

Joleena Doner had three hits and Paige Miller doubled, while Madison Sears struck out five in the circle for the Bulldogs (3-11, 1-9).

PORTVILLE WALKS OFF AGAINST EAGLES

PORTVILLE — Mattison Foster drove in pinch-runner Emmie Collins with the tying run and Foster made it all the way around on an error to score the winning run as Portville beat Ellicottville 5-4 in Division 2 East action Saturday.

Bella Morales went 2 for 3 with a double and an RBI, Foster had two hits, and Ella Warters doubled for the Panthers (12-2, 10-0). Morales and Warters combined to strike out eight in the circle.

Jaida Mendell had a triple, an RBI and a run scored, while Ande Northrup added two hits, including a double, for the Eagles (9-5, 8-3. Katie Lafferty struck out five in a complete game in the circle.
