Marauders’ rally trims Gowanda in baseball

GOWANDA — The Dunkirk baseball team scored seven runs in the top of the sixth inning to rally past Gowanda 10-9 in nonleague action on Wednesday.

Paul Trippy III led Dunkirk with 3 RBIs going 3 for 4 with a triple and two runs scored, Anthony Piede added 2 RBIs going 2 for 5, Zach Zentz hit an RBI triple, Jon Ganey doubled with an RBI, Dylan Bankoski was 1 for 2 with a double and both Henry Leone and Gabe Valentine had an RBI.

Gowanda was led by Madden Lay going 2 for 3 with 2 RBIs and a run scored, Blake Herman went 2 for 4 with a double and scored three runs, Ben VanNote was 2 for 4, and the trio of Seth Geiger, Logan Ruff and Kyan Austin had an RBI.

Bankoski had three strikeouts for the Marauders (11-8), but Anthony Cosme earned the win on the mound.

Gowanda (13-5) went with Geiger, Ruff and Brayden Smith combined for six strikeouts on the mound.

GARCIA NO HITS BLACK KNIGHTS

BROCTON — Michael Garcia finished the regular season on a strong note as he no-hit Silver Creek/Forestville and gave Brocton a 9-0 nonleague victory.

Garcia struck out eight batters and walked three batters, while Silver Creek/Forestville’s Thomas Hogg took the loss.

Brocton (7-8) was led by Richie Lundin hitting 2 for 2 with a pair of RBIs and runs scored, Grant Gustafson went 2 for 4 with an RBI double, Damion Franklin hit 2 for 5 with a double and an RBI, and Aiden Gatto was 1 for 3 with two runs scored.

Silver Creek/Forestville finishes the regular season with a 6-12 record.

GOLDEN FALCONS ROLL COUGARS

FALCONER — Gage Swanson pitched his final regular-season game and came away with a win after giving up just five hits and striking out five in the Golden Falcons nonleague victory over Cassadaga Valley 19-10.

Falconer ( also received a hit from everyone in the lineup with Swanson going 3 for 4, Charlie Reichenbach went 3 for 4 with, Erik Stenstrom had two hits including a double and 4 RBIs, Anthony had two hits and 3 RBIs and Gavin Curtis collected two hits.

Cassadaga Valley was led by Greg Edson with a three-run double and Jackson Crowell had two hits.
