The Diamond Dawgs went 2-3 on the weekend, losing in the Silver Bracket championship game Sunday. The Diamond Dawgs lost to the Syracuse Jr. Chiefs 18-11 and Gronk Nation Black 16-0 before beating 716 Herd Blue 9-8 in pool play. In the Silver Bracket semifinals, the Diamond Dawgs beat Lou Gehrig Blue 13-8 before losing to Gronk Nation Black 4-2 in the final.

Against the Syracuse Jr. Chiefs, Curtis Spielman went 2 for 2 with a double and two RBIs, while Collin Bragg tripled and drove in a run.
Jaxson Swanson, Lukas Youngberg, Caden Lacki, Corey Troutman and Huxley Hale each added a single, while Liam Mulkins, Greyson Whitfield and Troutman each drove in a run.

In pool play against Gronk Nation Black, Bragg had the Diamond Dawgs’ lone hit, while Swanson struck out three in 2 1/3 innings or relief.

Bragg had a pair of hits, drove in two runs and scored two runs in the 9-8 victory over 716 Herd Blue.
Whitfield doubled and drove in three runs, while Mulkins struck out four in 2 1/3 innings on the mound. Lacki picked up the save with a scoreless inning of relief.

In the semifinals, Mulkins and Whitfield each had a pair of hits, including a home run, and drove in three runs.
Spielman had two hits, including a double, and drove in two runs; Youngberg had two hits, two RBIs and two runs scored; and Bragg had two hits and two runs scored.

Gronk Nation took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the first inning of the championship game and held on for a 4-2 win.
Bragg had two hits and an RBI, while Spielman and Jackson Butzer had the only other singles for the Diamond Dawgs. Mulkins also drove in a run.
Butzer and Whitfield combined for seven strikeouts on the mound.
SOUTHERN TIER GIRLS BABE RUTH SOFTBALL
MAJORS DIVISION
The South Dayton Fillies defeated Bemus Point’s Tanner’s Garage 18-11.
Ashlynn Silleman led the South Dayton offense with a triple and two singles, and Serenity Pilarski added a double.
Olivia Sherry scored twice and Meghan Hallberg was outstanding behind the plate for Bemus Point.
MINORS DIVISION
The South Dayton Fillies edged out Gerry’s B&B Logging 7-5.
Emma Buczek was a double shy of the cycle for the Fillies. Avalee Wickmark and Kalyana Cole each had two hits.
Juliet Fiarella had an outstanding game for Gerry.
