Young’s 80 leads Asquith Tour
RUSSELL, Pa. — Dave Young’s 80 led the Asquith Senior Tour during its stop at Blueberry Hill Golf Course on Monday.
Using Stableford scoring, John Northrup led the White A Flight at plus-7, while Randy Herron was plus-5 and Dan Benson was plus-1.
Pat Hartzell’s 87 led the White B Flight. Ron Wilson was plus-5 and Jim Hale was plus-4, while Hartzell was plus-2.
Ed Calkin’s 81 paced the Gold A Flight. Keith Swanson was plus-6 and Calkin was plus-5, while Ed Johnson was plus-3.
Bruce Carlson’s 88 led the Gold B Flight. Marty Burroughs was plus-7 and Alan Ludwick was plus-5, while Dennis Richards was plus-3.
In the Gold C Flight, Bill Davenport shot an 87 and was plus-10. Jim E. Smith was plus-5 as was Joe Palermo.
Jeff Robinson’s 98 led the way in the Gold D Flight. Dan Barry was plus-6 and Bruce Macy was plus-4, while Sal Dicembre was plus-3.
Closest-to-the-pin honors went to Richards (No. 4), Jim G. Smith (No. 8), Dave Fiore (No. 11) and Doug Wheeler (No. 16).
Next week, the tour will visit Conewango Valley Country Club in Warren. On July 1, Scenic Heights Golf Course in Wattsburg, Pennsylvania, will be the host.
