Young leads Asquith Tour at Union City CC
UNION CITY, Pa. — Dave Young’s 75 led the way as the Asquith Senior Tour stopped at Union City Country Club this past week.
Henry Johnson led the Stableford scoring in the White A Flight with a plus-8, while Dave Fiore was plus-6 and Randy Peterson was plus-4.
In the White B Flight, Bob Huber shot an 89, while Roger Golden was plus-6. Phil Benson was plus-5 and Roger Overend was plus-2.
Brian Eckwahl’s 78 led the way in the Gold A Flight. Dave Allen was plus-9, Dale Melquist was plus-7 and Eckwahl was plus-6.
Bruce Carlson fired an 83 in the Gold B Flight and was also plus-5. Paul Trusso was plus-4 and Bill Baglia was plus-3.
In the Gold C Flight, Bob Welch fired an 89 and was plus-12. Larry Eidens was plus-6 as was Marty Burroughs.
Bruce Macy shot a 96 in the Gold F Flight. Don Armstrong was plus-12, Ed Potter was plus-10 and Macy was plus-8.
Closest-to-the-pin honors went to Eckwahl at No. 4, Gary Sagurney at No. 8, Rick St. George at No. 12 and Overend at No. 14.
This coming week, the tour will stop at Venango Valley Inn & Golf Course on Monday at 9 a.m. before heading to Cardinal Hills Golf Course in Randolph on Tuesday, Aug. 6.
