Capozzi leads Panthers past Timberwolves
GOWANDA — Carter Capozzi went 11 of 20 for 176 yards and four touchdowns to lead Gowanda/Pine Valley past Cattaraugus-Little Valley 46-6 in Class D action.
Winter Mentley-Peters caught a 69-yard touchdown, while Brayden Smith caught a pair of touchdown passes and Winter Rivera caught one for the Panthers.
Smith also rushed three times for 82 yards and a touchdown; Zane Rogers ran seven times for 73 yards; Capozzi ran twice for 64 yards, including a 56-yard scamper; Camryn Slade ran seven times for 52 yards; and Damien Cedri and Mason Wilson had touchdown runs of 8 and 3 yards, respectively.
Slade was in on 10 tackles and returned a fumble recovery for a touchdown to lead the Gowanda/Pine Valley (1-1, 1-0) defense.
The Timberwolves fell to 0-2 overall and 0-1 in the league.
