Kruszka leads Pine Valley/Gowanda past Dunkirk girls soccer

SOUTH DAYTON — Four first half goals powered Pine Valley/Gowanda past Dunkirk 6-3 in nonleague girls soccer action on Saturday.

Sarah Kruszka led the Panthers (2-7-0) offense with two goals and two assists, Lauren Hostetter scored a goal and an assist, Destiny Lindquist, Samantha Collins and Ashley Irwin scored one goal each, and both Sandy Ivett and Madison Mosher had an assist. Lindquist and Ivett split time playing goalie with five and four saves, respectively.

The loss knocks Dunkirk to 0-0-7 on the season.

SC/F BLANKS WOLVERINES

WESTFIELD — A pair of goals from Marissa Grisanti lifted Silver Creek/Forestville past Westfield/Brocton 4-0 in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 3.

Eliza Mahaney and Abby Cook scored the other goals for the Black Knights (5-3-0, 2-2-0), while Kimberly Bauer and Meadow Azzarella picked up assists. Bauer also made four saves to maintain the clean sheet.

Colie Bundy was called upon for 15 saves in net for Westfield/Brocton (2-5-1, 1-4-0).

ROTH LEADS F/CV/MG

FALCONER — Julianna Roth scored twice and assisted a goal to lead Falconer/Cassadaga Valley/Maple Grove past Randolph 4-0 in nonleague play.

Roth assisted Kylie Kress in the 14th minute and that was all the Golden Cougars (7-2-0) needed to win the game. Kress added the fourth goal in the 33rd minute with an assist from Alex Caldwell, while Gracie Chimera picked up an assist on an earlier Roth tally. Ellyson Baglia registered six saves for the clean sheet.

Randolph falls to 5-3-1 overall with the loss.

SEIBERG LIFTS BEARS

WEST ELLICOTT — Ellie Seiberg scored a goal from Ava Jimerson in the 63rd minute to lift Frewsburg past Southwestern 2-1 in nonleague action.

Audrey Eckwahl opened the scoring for Frewsburg (10-1-0) with an assist from Kaylee Cappa, while Elyssa Gruber made nine saves to secure the win.

Marlana Cresanti scored just before halftime with an assist from Kaylyn Carnes and Braya Beaver had seven saves for Southwestern (5-3-0).

ELLICOTTVILLE FALLS TO HILLBILLIES

FREDONIA — Addison John’s goal from Bianca Bush was not enough as Ellicottville fell to Fredonia in nonleague play 2-1.

Courtney Marsh made 13 saves in the effort for the Eagles (7-2-1).

Fredonia improves to 5-5-0 on the season with the win.
