Red Dragon Invite held at Bemus Point GC

BEMUS POINT — Ethan Verbosky of Maple Grove and Emma Lewis of Southwestern claimed individual titles, and Maple Grove won both the boys and girls team championships at the Red Dragon Invitational on Saturday at Bemus Point Golf Course.

Verbosky toured the 3.1-mile course in 15:58.45, nearly a minute ahead of second-place Cody Kent of Frewsburg (16:52.07).

Other top finishers were Jacob Lewis of Maple Grove (16:55), Trenton Krenzer of Fredonia/Westfield (17:10.6), Grant Cornell of Franklinville (17:22.57); Finn Caswell of Jamestown (17:33.14), Donavin Brown of Southwestern (17:40.51), Nolan Wilczewski of Allegany-Limestone (17:52.33), Ryan Janese of Nichols School (17:53.47) and Jack Sherry of Maple Grove (17:55.11).

The team scores for the boys were Maple Grove 30, Nichols School 90, Fredonia 110, Falconer 135, Franklinville 141, Clymer/Sherman/Panama 162, Southwestern 170, Eisenhower 170, Olean 231, Silver Creek 249 and Jamestown 266.

In the girls’ race, Lewis toured the course in 20:07.06 to hold off Elexa Duggan of Allegany-Limestone (20:09.94).

Other members of the top 10 were Leah Mays of Silver Creek/Forestville (20:14.15), Ryanna Brady of Salamanca (20:27.08), Gracyn Rowland of Randolph (20:56.20), Meredith Lendt of Fredonia/Westfield (21:02.42), Julie Cruz of Nichols School (21:14.88), Presley Haines of Maple Grove (21:24.58), Evalyn Fessel of Maple Grove (21:41.74) and Tryniti Card of Southwestern (21:44.34).

The team scores for the girls were Maple Grove 50, Nichols School 60, Southwestern 82, Eisenhower 92, Allegany-Limestone 141, Fredonia/Westfield 143, Olean 168 and Falconer/Cassadaga Valley 179.
